From our work: Travel Japan

A destination has more than one perspective

A region, multiple tourism partners and different audiences need a shared communication approach. A documentary format can connect places through an ongoing story. A content production can instead create a range of films, photographs and social assets for a campaign.

Creator and YouTube series
A narrative connects travel, encounters and challenges. The choice of protagonists and locations follows the story and its intended audience.
Content production on location
Film, photography and short social versions are planned as part of a coordinated production trip. Subjects, season and required formats belong in the initial brief.
Several partners, one production
Tourism organisations, regions, transport providers and brands have different requirements. Roles, filming opportunities and approvals are planned together.

Ideas put into practice

From the brief to production

  1. Destination and audience

Identify source markets, audiences, reasons to travel and participating partners.

  2. Story and content

Plan the series or campaign approach, locations and required media together.

  3. Production and use

Agree travel logistics, permissions, contacts, approvals and the intended usage.

Before we begin

When is a series the right choice?

A series suits an ongoing story with protagonists and development. A content production is useful when a campaign needs several defined subjects and media assets across channels.

Can regional partners or brands take part?

Yes. Their role in the story and the production is developed in the concept and agreed with the destination.

Is influencer marketing the same as format development?

No. Creators can lead a format or publish on their own channels. Format development concerns the idea and structure; distribution, channel choice and partnerships are further decisions.

Which references are relevant to our brief?

Destination Escape demonstrates a series approach. Travel Japan and Uganda show content production on the road. The award projects connect film competitions, filmmakers and destinations.
